Element Replacement Procedure
Element replacement will ensure that contaminants trapped due to ingestion and component wear
are removed from the system.
To replace the return line filter element, proceed this way:
1.
Complete the lockout/tagout procedure (refer to “Locking Out and Tagging Out the Vehicle”

Keep tools, working area and equipment clean. A pan will be required to collect a small amount
of oil lost as the element is removed.

OTE
:
The filter housing is fitted with a check valve. Therefore, it is not necessary to drain the
hydraulic tank before the replacement procedure.
2.
Loosen the 4 cover plate bolts using a ½-inch wrench, rotate through 45° and lift off.

Use an oil tray to collect lost oil.

Carefully remove the element, rotating it as you do so to release suction.
