4.2

Connecting via RS-485

Once the WirelessHART gateway has been connected to the RS-485 bus, you can connect the 

RS-485 bus to your PC. This can be done by using an RS-485 to RS-232 converter or using an 

RS-485 to USB converter.

Note!

The usage of an approved RS-485 converter is recommended for faster configuration and 

more reliable high-speed operation. In addition, the usage of a galvanically isolated RS-485 

converter is strongly recommended for permanent installations.
