3. Assemble
The assembly has four elastic bolts (3,
Fig. 3 ), eight M27x2 castle nuts (2), four
bases (5) and eight split pins (1).
1) Remove all grease from the thread of
the elastic bolts (3) and the eight
screws (6).
2) Apply Loctite 262 to the thread of the
elastic bolts (3)
3) Put two elastic bolts (3) in position in
each half of the gear wheel.
4) Attach a base (5) and an M27x2 castle
nut (2) to each end of the elastic
bolts (3).
5) Make sure that the distance between the
head of the elastic bolt (3) and the
M27x2castle nut (2) is as shown.
6) Lock the M27x2 castle nuts (2) with the
split pins (1).
7) After one or two days, make sure that
the Loctite 262 is fully cured.
8) Tighten the M27x2 castle nuts (2) to the
value given in 0352 − 2 .
4. Procedure
WARNING
Injury Hazard: Before you
operate the turning gear,
make sure that no
personnel are near the
flywheel, or in the engine.
1) Operate the turning gear to get the mark
on the crankshaft flange approximately
horizontal.
Note: During step 2, make sure that the
mark DRIVING END faces the
flywheel.
2) Put one half of the gear wheel with the
assembled elastic bolts on the center of
the crankshaft flange. Align the faces of
the gear wheel that join, with the mark on
the crankshaft flange.
3) Attach temporarily the four screws (6) to
each side of the gear wheel.
4) Use applicable equipment to hold the
top half of the gear wheel (7) in position.
