2. Proximity Sensors −
Replace
2.1 Proximity Sensors

WARNING
Injury Hazard: Before you
operate the turning gear,
make sure that no
personnel are near the
flywheel, or in the engine.
1) Stop the engine.
2) Operate the turning to get a tooth (2,
Fig. 2 ) opposite the adaptor (7 or 8).
3) Put a mark on the applicable cable to
identify its position.
4) Disconnect the electrical connection (6)
from the proximity sensor (5).
5) Loosen the locknut (4).
6) Remove the proximity sensor (5) from
the adaptor (7 or 8).
7) Attach the new proximity sensor (5) to
the holder.
8) Turn the proximity sensor (5) fully into
the adaptor (7 or 8).
Note: During installation/commissioning
the clearance between the tooth (2)
of the intermediate wheel and the
adaptor (7 or 8) is set to 2.0 mm.
9) Carefully tighten the lock-nut with your
fingers.
10) Connect the electrical connection (6) to
the proximity sensor (5). Refer to the
mark you made before to identify the
correct cable.
