3. Removing, Dismantling and Assembling (Procedure 2)
To remove the piston rod gland with piston installed do the procedure that follows:
1) Operate the turning gear to move the piston to BDC.
2) Install assembly platform (94345H).
3) Torque the bolts (19)
to 32 Nm.
4) Operate the turning gear to move the piston carefully to TDC until the assembly
platform is in the position shown in Fig. 5 .
5) Remove the six bolts (12).
6) Put the two bolts (12) into the applicable M10 threaded holes in the support (11).
7) Turn the two bolts (12) to remove the piston rod gland from the cylinder block.
8) Put the gland foot on the wooden underlay (WU).
9) Remove the four bolts (13).
10) Lower the gland and support on to the assembly platform.
11) Operate the turning gear to move the piston to BDC.
12) Disassemble the piston rod gland, refer to paragraph
2.2 .
13) Assemble the piston rod gland, refer to paragraph 2.3 .
Note: When you operate the turning gear, make sure that the the piston rod foot
goes into the bore of the cylinder block smoothly.
14) Apply oil to the threads of the bolts (12 and 13, Fig. 1 ).
15) Put the new locking plates (14) and the bolts (12, 13) in position.
16) Torque the bolts (12, 13) to 37 Nm.
17) Lock the bolts (12, 13) with the new locking plates (14)
