SECTION 12 –
MISCELLANEOUS
During windy conditions, the Direct Response
System detects awning motion. (The motion
sensor is located in the awning rail.) The system
operates by gauging the vertical motion of the
awning’s leading edge. When continuous motion
exceeds the factory preset threshold for two
seconds or longer, the awning will retract
automatically. The control panel provides four
factory preset threshold values. You may want to
experiment to find the best setting that suits your
needs.
•
LOW - The lower the selection of threshold,
less motion is required before the system
closes automatically.
•
HIGH - The higher the selection of threshold,
more motion is required before the system
closes automatically.
Wind gust detection is incorporated into the
awning software. When the motion value is
suddenly and sharply increased above a safe
maximum value, then the two second persistence
measure is overridden and the awning will
immediately close.
