INSTALLATION:
Read all instructions before beginning installation.
1. Assemble the parts as shown in
Diagram A
.
2. Tighten all bolts and end knobs finger tight.
3. With your finger, feel for metal strip under roof fabric just above top of
windshield. Your Mirror should be attached to this metal strip. If your car
does not have this header, attach to the metal strip surrounding windshield,
making sure to avoid windshield area.
4. Place assembled mirror in position as shown in
Diagram B
. Generally,
the right edge of the first mirror should be aligned with the center of the
steering column. Depending on preference, you may move the mirror
slightly to the right of center of the column.
5. Before marking mounting hole locations for drilling, be certain to avoid
contacting edge or surface of windshield. Contacting windshield with
drill bit or screw may cause cracks in windshield. Hold mirror in position
with one hand and using mounting brackets as template, mark 4 screw
locations (2 on each end) for drilling into metal strip under the roof fabric.
Carefully drill (4) 1/8" holes.
6. Remove the mounting brackets from the assembled Mirror and fasten
them in position with sheet metal screwsas shown in
Diagram C
. Make
sure these mounting brackets are very securely fastened to prevent
mirror from falling. Do not over tighten to avoid stripping threads.
7. Attach the Mirror to the mounting brackets which are now in place and
adjust to a suitable position. Tighten all nuts. Do not over tighten to avoid
stripping threads or breaking knob.
8. When adjusting your Mirror for other drivers, it is essential to loosen both
end knobs before adjusting mirror so you do not loosen or pull out
mounting brackets from metal strip.
