Basic Installation Steps
The WiP7001p Ethernet Bridges may be installed without any configuration or setup by
simply connecting to the coax network as shown in the Connection diagram.
1.
Check coax endpoint location connections to confirm that they are connected to the
main coax TV network.
2.
Locate the Broadband Modem.
3.
Make connections as shown in the system installation overview.
4.
If existing cabling system has an RF amplifier, it must be replaced by a MoCA ByPass
Amplifier
5.
If Cable STB’s are MoCA devices, a 2-way MoCA splitter must be used to allow MoCA
signal to pass to STB (WiP7001p does not pass MoCA through TV Only F connector)
6.
Install additional WiP7001p’s or WIP7500 WIFI AP’s in any desired room that has an
active Coax cable connection home run to the MoCA splitter.
Advanced Configuration & Installation Steps
The WiP7001p can be configured to allow custom settings such as: assignment of a static
IP Address, upgrade of Firmware and access to a built-in network PHY rate table for
diagnostics and/or verification of physical cabling integrity. Steps to access the
configuration setup are as follows:
1.
WiP7001p must not be connected to coax network during this procedure.
2.
Connect computer directly to the WiP7001p with an Ethernet cable.
3.
Set computer TCP/IP properties setting to a static IP Address which is on the same
subnet as the WiP7001p’s default IP Address –
192.168.144.100
. Also set the
Subnet Mask to
255.255.255.0
.
4.
Open Web browser on the computer and enter the WiP7001p default static IP
Address of
192.168.144.20
into the browser address bar.
5.
Enter the User Name “admin” and Password “wi3admin”.
6.
Select desired menu item on the setup page.
7.
When complete, reset computer to original TCP/IP network settings.
