To Crimp
Attach a crimping jaw by screwing it on to the bottom of the unit. The crimping jaw can be
identified by the downward facing arrow at the top of the jaw.
Apply power to the unit by plugging in the power supply cord at the top of the unit.
The compression of the Crimpenstein jaws will need to be adjusted based on the vials and
seals that are being used. It is recommended that you start at the lowest crimping setting and
increase the crimping compression as needed until the perfect crimp is achieved.
Rest the unit on top of the aluminum seal and press the trigger button to crimp.
Check the crimp and adjust the crimping jaw compression if necessary by pressing the “+” or
“–“ buttons on top of the unit.
a. To create a tighter crimp, press the “+” button on top of the unit. The lights will advance
toward the red side of the display indicating a tighter crimp.
b. To create a looser crimp, press the “–” button on top of the unit. The lights will advance
toward the yellow side of the display indicating a looser crimp.
If the Unit Jams Making a Crimp
Cause:
The cap has likely been over crimped and deformed.
Remedy:
1. Reset the unit by unplugging the power from the unit and then plugging the power back in.
This will cause the unit to reverse and release the jaws.
2. If the above remedy fails to release the cap, gently press (do not bang) vial on a flat
surface to force the jaws to release. Use the ‘–’ button at the top of the unit to advance
towards the yellow side of the display for a lighter crimp.
3. Use the ‘–’ button at the top of the unit to adjust for a proper crimp.
