8.4 Sensor LS-7 Adjustment
Sensor LS-7 signals the presence of the major flap through or below the major flap folders. It
mounts on an adjustable bracket and must be set to sense the arrival of the major flap. If the
case size change involves a significantly different length of the flap, then adjust the position of
LS-7 accordingly. Adjusting the position of LS-7 adjustment is not normally necessary. When
running cases with small bottom flaps, ensure that the sensor is not receiving a false signal from
machine parts. LS-7, together with LS-17 (Head Fully Down) initiates the major flap folding.
8.5 Minor Flap Folders
To adjust the machine to run cases
with a short length, install alternative
small top plates (change parts) on the
top surface of the minor flap folders.
See the ‘Minor Flaps Assembly’
drawing in the Supplementary Manual
for further details.
8.6 Testing the Size Adjustments
After making all of the necessary size adjustments, test the machine to check that they are
correct. Proceed as follows:
1) Ensure that the magazine is loaded with cases that are all correctly oriented (right-way-
up), and that the first case is pushed fully
DOWN
into the caliper slot against the
injector drive bar. Refer to Section 6.3.2:
2) Close all guards. Check that the
‘REMOTE DEMAND’
sensor is clear or that the
‘REMOTE DEMAND’
toggle switch on the ‘Setup & Option’ page of the touchscreen
displays the text
‘REMOTE DEMAND OFF’
.
3) Turn
ON
the manual pneumatic shutoff valve and ensure that pressure is 90 PSI on the
main regulator and 70 PSI on both the jaw regulator and the mast regulator.
4) Turn the electrical disconnect switch
ON
.
5) Ensure that the
‘EMERGENCY STOP’
button is
OUT
(turn the button clockwise or pull
it firmly
OUT
).
6) Press the
‘RESET’
button to turn
ON
the main air. The other mechanisms will be in
their
HOME
positions, as follows:
