FAQ
ICoT local display shows a “PASSWORD” screen. What should I do?
ICoT local display shows the “PASSWORD” screen after pressing both “Up” and “Down” buttons at the same time.
This function is for internal use only and should not be used by the operator. To exit PASSWORD function press
again both “Up” and “Down” buttons simultaneously.
Where do I find the device revision, EDD revision and the firmware revision?
•
The firmware revision is available in the ICoT local display.

Other FF specific information used in the ICoT, like Device revision, EDD revision, manufacturer ID number
(among others) can be accessed through the FF Host system or a FF hand-held. They are implemented in
the device’s Resource Block parameters listed below:
o
MANUFAC_ID: manufacturer identification number, example “WESTLOCK” or “WTVC” or
“0x574343” (hexadecimal) or 5718851 (decimal).
o
DEV_TYPE: device identification number, example “0x1100”.
o
DEV_REV: device revision, e.g., “0x03”.
o
DD_REV: the lowest (oldest) revision number of the EDD, which was used to register the device,
e.g., “0x01”. It’s possible to have newer revisions that describe the device. It’s recommended to
use the latest EDD revision in the Host system.
o
ITK_VER: major version number of the ITK used in the device registration, example “0x06”.
o
REVISION_ID: The revision of the firmware installed in the device, for example:
“ICoT_II_FF_Rev4.1.0”.
o
REVISION_DATE: date of the firmware installed in the device, example “08 August 2012”.
(This date may be not equal to the binary file used to download the firmware in the device).
Which EDD revision (and related files) should I use?
The EDD revision must be compatible with the firmware implemented in the device. Ultimately this information is
provided by the device manufacturer. The EDD and EDD files are generally supplied in a set containing three files;
A binary file (extension .ffo or .ff5), a symbol file (extension .sym or .sy5) and a so called capability file, or just CF file
for short (extension .cff). The full name of these files is actually the revision of the EDD and CF
The convention used is: aabb.ff5, aabb.sy5 and aabbcc.cff; where
•
aa = Device revision (DEV_REV)
•
bb = EDD revision (DD_REV)
•
cc = CF revision.
