The Pole Saw
Assembling the Pole Saw
ATTENTION! The teeth of the saw chain are sharp! Wear gloves when
handling the saw chain!
Place the saw chain with the guides engaged in the slot of the guide bar.
Guide the chain over the drive sprocket and attach the guide bar. The chain
tensioning device must lock into the corresponding hole in the guide bar.
Attach the plastic cover and slightly tighten die retaining nut. Use the
tensioning screw to tighten the saw chain, until can be lifted 3 - 4 mm off the
guide bar. After that, tighten the retaining nut.
Cutting with the Pole Saw
There is no need to force the pole saw into the cut. Run the engine on full
throttle and only lightly press on the tool. If the saw jams in the cut, do not try
and pull the tool out by force, rather use a pole or rod to pry open the cut and
free the saw.
Saw Chain
Only use sharp chains. Dull chains can easily get jammed. While working with
new chains, regularly check the chain tension because new chains can
lengthen considerably upon initial operation.
The service life of a saw chain mainly depends on sufficient lubrication and
correct tensioning.
During operation, the saw chain heats up, and tensioning may be necessary.
Slacken the chain after use so it will not be too tight after cooling down.
Do not tension an overheated chain. After cooling down, the chain may
shorten and become over tensioned.
