Application
For repairing damaged 18 mm spark plug threads on aluminium
heads.
Scope of Delivery
1 Tap/Reamer
1 Insert 3/8”
1 Insert 7/16”
1 Insert 1/2"
1 Insert 3/4"
Using
1. Cut the spark thread plug only by hand. Do not use a drilling ma-
chine. Cut very slowly and carefully and make sure the tap is in
an upright position. If necessary use suitable lubricant.
2. After cutting the damaged thread, clean the thread and the insert
with degreaser. Make sure swarf cannot fall into the combustion
chamber. If possible remove the cylinder head.
3. Screw the insert on the spark plug. If necessary apply some
heat-proof tightening glue and screw the spark plug down very
carefully. Tighten the spark plug only up to the required torque,
according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
Cleaning
Keep the rethreader kit always clean and well lubricated and
store it in a dry place.
