6.3.1 Cabling Two Systems
Follow the instructions in this section if you are adding a second system (system 2) to your original system.
The figure below shows the correct scale out cabling between two systems using an OM3 MPO Type-B
female-to-female rack-to-rack cable.

To cable system 2:
1. Insert 40Gb transceivers into ports 49 (M1) and 51 (M3) of System Interconnects 1 and 2
on both
systems
, for a total of eight transceivers plugged in.
2. Connect your OM3/OM4 cables to the transceivers you plugged in as follows:
– Connect System 1, System Interconnect 1, port 49 to System 2, System Interconnect 1, port 51.
– Connect System 1, System Interconnect 2, port 49 to System 2, System Interconnect 2, port 51.
– Connect System 2, System Interconnect 1, port 49 to System 1, System Interconnect 1, port 51.
– Connect System 2, System Interconnect 2, port 49 to System 1, System Interconnect 2, port 51.
6.4 Cabling Three Systems
Follow the instructions in this section if you are adding a third system (system 3).
This figure shows the correct scale out cabling between three systems using an OM3 MPO Type-B female-
to-female rack-to-rack cable.
