, proceed with physical drive replacement.

button to light the front identification LED on the drive.
f. Identify the physical location of the drive.
2. Press the drive carrier handle release. The handle will pop out.

3. Use the handle to pull the faulty SSD from the system.
4. Record the serial number of the faulty device for return purposes.
3.3.2.2 Installing a 2.5 inch drive
To install a replacement 2.5 inch drive:
1. Align the replacement drive with the empty slot and slide it into the Storage Node until it stops.
2. Press the drive carrier handle in until there is an audible click.
3. Check to make sure that the drive has been reintegrated and the status is
Online
. If the status is
Degraded
,
Decommissioning
, or
Decommissioned
, wait for approximately 15 minutes and check
again.
Important:
If the status does not change to
Online
, retry the replacement
process or contact Western Digital Corporation Support.
3.3.3 Replacing Storage Node PSUs

3.3.3.1 Removing a Storage Node PSU
To remove the Storage Node PSU:
1. Unplug the AC power cord from the faulty PSU.
2. Press the release lever in towards the handle to release the PSU.
3. Grasp the handle and pull with even pressure until the unit is removed.
3.3.3.2 Installing a Storage Node PSU
To install a replacement Storage Node PSU:
1. With the handle facing inward, align the replacement PSU with the empty slot.
2. Release the lever outward and push the PSU into the server until there is an audible click.
