5.2.5.3.2 Effective Resolution for Calculating the Safety Clearance
DANGER!
• The edge tolerance reduces the effective resolution of the ESPE.
• The value for the effective resolution can be found in the tables below.
• A new calculation of the safety clearance taking into account the effective resolution of the
ESPE is essential.
• For resolutions > 40 mm, the safety clearance must be calculated with the margin CRT =
850 mm!
• If the effective resolution deviates from the physical resolution of the ESPE as per the data
sheet, the effective resolution must be documented and securely mounted on a sign close
to the ESPE.
• When calculating the safety clearance for fix blanking with edge tolerance, the response
time “special setting” must be used (see Section
“4.2 Response times” on page 17).
Effective resolution with construction around the sides of the hidden object
• If a mechanical construction is installed in the hidden area around the object, only the edge tolerance is
relevant for the effective resolution (see table below).
