Hydraulic Motor Case Drain Filter - Replace
Hydraulic motor case drain filter
(1)
filters fluid from the
hydraulic motors on the elevator, storage conveyor, and
discharge conveyor. Only service filter when filter
indicator indicates it is necessary. Call Weiler Service if
filters do require service.
1.
Remove filter.
2.
Clean filter base. Remove old seal completely.
3.
Install new filter by hand. When gasket contacts
filter base, turn filter an additional 180 degrees
(1/2 turn).
New CAT fluid filters have rotation index marks spaced at 90 degree increments. Use these
marks as a guide for tightening filters.
Hydraulic System - Check
•Ensure all connections are tight and hoses are in good condition before applying hydraulic
pressure to system.
•Check for leaking hoses, kinked hoses, and for hoses that rub against each other or other parts of
machine. Replace all deteriorated or damaged hoses. When a hose with a protective sleeve is
replaced, always install a new protective sleeve over the new hose.
•Check hydraulic cylinders for leaks and damage. Repair or replace as required.
WARNING
Pressurized fluid can penetrate body tissue and result in death or serious
injury. Leaks can be invisible. Keep away from any suspected leak. Relieve
pressure in the hydraulic system before searching for leaks, disconnecting
hoses, or performing any other work on the system. When searching for a
pressurized leak, use an object such as a piece of wood or cardboard. Keep
hands away. When loosening a fitting where residual pressure may exist,
slowly loosen fitting until fluid begins to leak. Wait for leaking to stop before
disconnecting fitting. Tighten all connections before re-pressurizing system.
Seek immediate surgical treatment if fluid is injected under the skin.
