SECTION 8 : LEGS FOR HORIZONTAL MOUNTING
8 .1 Le g Mountin g
Legs can be u sed w hen mo u nting an air handler on a
concrete slab or directly on the floor. Legs are
a
v ailable for all models in the horizontal
config u ration.
8 .2 Le g Mountin g - Horizontal Air Handler
The 46" (116.8 cm) legs m u st first be mo u nted to the
air handler before being mo u nted to the concrete
slab or floor. To attach the legs w ith the air handler
m u st first be lifted w ith the pro v ided lifting l u gs. See
Page 10, Section 6.1 for safe lifting practices. In each
corner of the bottom of the air handler, fo u r leg-
mo u nting holes w ill be fo u nd.
The legs can no w be mo u nted one at a time to the
inside of the corner by remo v ing the hard w are that
occ u pies each of the bolt locations. Place the leg on
the inside of the corner and attach w ith the pre v io u sly
remo v ed hard w are. Missing hard w are needs to be
added at each bolt location. The req u ired hard w are is
a 5/16"-18 x 1" grade 5 bolt, a 5/16" flat w asher, and
a 5/16"-18 grade 5 flange n u t.
To attach the legs to a concrete slab, the base of
each leg is eq
u ipped w ith t w o 1" holes. St u ds
capable of accepting 5/8" n u ts m u st be installed in
the concrete slab.
The air handler may no w be placed do w n o v er the
slab st u ds. The legs sho u ld then be bolted do w n w ith
5/8" n u ts.
