5 Operation Scan Setup

Position Mode
You can choose between two methods for determining
the probe position.
Encoded
The position of the probe is determined by evaluating
the encoder signals.
Timed
The position of the probe is calculated based on the
movement time. With this method, the probe must be
moved at a constant speed.
Manual Index
If the scanner system does not have an encoder for the
index axis, you must select the setting
On for manual
entry of the index value.
During the scanning procedure, you must then set the
value for the track shift on the index axis. To do this, you
will use the arrow buttons that appear in the C-scan (see
page 232). These arrow buttons are only visible if you
select the setting

Scan Size
You must set the maximum length of the scan axis.
Index Size
You must set the maximum length of the index axis.
