h. Remove the insulation and attach the other end to the open connector on the
battery fuse.
i. Attach the Ring terminal end of the NEG (-) battery cable (23 inches/58.42
cm) to Battery 1 .

j. Remove the installation and connect the other end to the negative connector
on the PDB.
6. Close the HPSA-7100-R cabinet door, as described in Section 6.1.2.
IF THE NEGATIVE CABLE IS CONNECTED TO THE PDB, DO NOT
ALLOW ANY OF THE LOOSE-ENDED BATTERY CABLES TO COME IN
CONTACT WITH THE ENCLOSURE. ALLOWING THE BATTERY
CABLES TO COME IN CONTACT WITH THE ENCLOSURE COULD
PRODUCE A SHORT CIRCUIT CONDITION RESULTING IN SEVERE
BODILY HARM, FIRE, AND/OR EXPLOSION.
Ensure all strands of the cable are captured in the connector to avoid a
possible short.
Batteries provide primary power for the HPSA-7100-R. Regular testing
of the system is critical to ensure proper performance in emergency
situations. the batteries shipped with the system have been evaluated
to ensure performance as specified. Contact Cooper Notification for
replacement batteries. Ensure the batteries are fully charged prior to
initial use.
