8.1.3.1 Playing Default Local Alarms
1. Notify any personnel in the area that a test is upcoming, and apply sufficient ear
protection.
2. Open the electronics compartment door and locate the Control Panel. The default
selection on the Control Panel’s main menu is Play Alarms .
3. Press the ENTER key to display a list of default tone and voice alarms.

4. On the keypad, select an alarm/tone to play by pressing the up or down arrow to
scroll through the list.
5. Press ENTER . The alarm/tone immediately broadcasts and the screen changes to
Playing Alarm #< n > (where, n is the alarm number).
6. Continue playing the alarm/tone. The alarm/tone does not stop until the operator
selects Cancel or Stop. When you decide to stop the alarm/tone, select Cancel
(delays) or Stop (stops immediately).If the HPSA-7100-R speakers are not
connected or the External Speaker switch is in the Off position, the alarm/tone
content can be heard on the sub-panel speaker by toggling the Internal Speaker
switch on the sub-panel.
7. On the keypad, press CANCEL to return to the main menu.
If the LCD screen is difficult to read, you can adjust the contrast as described
in Section 8.1.6, Changing the LCD Screen Attributes.
