Testing the System
4. Verify the maximum rated output voltages for all active channels are between 33
V
RMS
and 34 V
RMS
for a system under load, as indicated in Table 7.3. Refer to
Table 7.4 for the specific HPSA active Channel list:
Channel 1: TB1 (Channel 1)
Channel 2: TB2 (Channel 2)
Channel 3: TB3 (Channel 3)
Channel 4: TB4 (Channel 4)
5. Deactivate the NAC IN or CC IN from the audio panel
6. Disconnect the 1 KHz signal from the input to the AMB.
7. Exit HyperTerminal’s Volume Control Utility by pressing the ESC key.
8. Shut down HyperTerminal and disconnect the serial cable.
9. Disconnect the True AC V
RMS
multimeter.
7.3
TESTING THE SYSTEM
Verify the system is working correctly by activating the Audio and Monitoring Bridge and
sounding the HPSA’s local alarm tones and live microphone announcements (if the
optional HPSA-MIC is installed) to the speakers. This section provides instructions for
performing alarm and message tests.

Using the Communications Panels
7.3.1.1
HPSA-7100-R Control Panel
The Control Panel allows you to activate locally stored prerecorded alarm tones for
broadcast through the speakers; it also provides tools for adjusting the Master Volume,
performing administrative diagnostic tests and configuring performance settings.
Table 7.5 describes the command options that are accessible from the Control Panel.
