6.5.21 Vertical Termination
–
Concentric Vent
Both combustion air and vent pipes must attach to the termination. The termination must
terminate outside the structure and must be installed as shown in Figure 6-13.
6.5.22 Determining Location of Vertical Concentric Vent Termination
Locate the vertical concentric vent/air terminations using the following guidelines:
1.
The total length of piping for vent or air must not exceed the limits given in the Section 6.3.
2.
The concentric terminal must terminate at least 3 feet above the highest place in which the
vent penetrates the roof and at least 2 feet above any part of a building within 10 horizontal
feet.
3.
Locate termination so it is not likely to be damaged by foreign objects, such as stones or
balls, or subject to buildup of leaves or sediment.

6.5.23 Multi-Venting Vertical Terminations
When two (2) or more direct vent appliances are vented near each other, each appliance must
be individually vented.
