SAFETY NET FOR ABOVEGROUND POOLS
Installation & Maintenance Manual
BEFORE YOU START:
Thank you for your purchase of a WaterWarden Pool Safety Net. Please
read these instructions in their entirety prior to installation to ensure a
smooth and proper installation. Retain manual for future reference. The
WaterWarden safety net can be installed on most aboveground pools. If
you are unsure as to whether or not your particular pool will work with a
WaterWarden pool net, please call (732) 730-9880 Monday-Friday, 9:00
AM to 5:00 PM for help before you begin.
NECESSARY EQUIPMENT:
• Drill
• 9/64” Drill Bit
• Extension Cord
• Black marker (nonpermanent)
• ½” Stainless steel sheet metal screws (2 per upright)
• Protective Gardening Gloves
INCLUDED COMPONENTS:
• WaterWarden Pool Net with Tensioning System and Guide Cords
• Brackets
• Hooks
• Binding cord
• Drilling template
PLACING THE BRACKETS:
(1) Removing drilling template from package. Determine the width of
pool’s top rail, and cut template on the appropriate dotted line. For
Intex Style pools (do not use template) brackets should be installed
10” from top rail.
(2) Align drilling template with top of any pool upright, directly under-
neath top rail cap. Using a nonpermanent marker, mark the two
spots labeled “drill here”.
(3) Repeat step (2) for each upright.
(4) Drill through marked spots into each upright.
(5) Place a bracket onto the first drilled upright, with round screw hole
on the bottom, and keyhole for hook at the top. (See Fig. 1). Use
½” Sheet metal stainless steel screws to attach bracket to upright.
For best results, use a drill with speed control to prevent over-
tightening of screws.
(6) Repeat step (5) with remaining brackets and screws, attaching one
bracket to each.
POSITIONING THE POOL NET:
Unfold the WaterWarden Safety Net and spread over top of the pool.
Proceed around the pool and hook net to the brackets.
TRIMMING AND SHAPING THE POOL NET TO FIT THE POOL:
When you are sure that the net is straight and as tight as you can get it
to be, you will trim away any excess netting from behind the hooks and
anchors. Use a soldering iron for this, in that way you will also seal off
any raw edges of netting and prevent fraying or unraveling.
The edges of net should curve neatly from bracket to anchor (Fig. 2).
Take extreme caution not to cut the net too close to the pool edge.
