Maintenance procedures
This section provides the maintenance guidelines and procedures necessary to maintain the
mass spectrometer's performance.
Keep to a maintenance schedule, and perform maintenance as required and described in this
section.
4.1 Maintenance schedule
The following table lists periodic maintenance schedules that ensure optimum instrument
performance.

trap bottle.

Clean the source
components.
When source components are
visibly fouled, the background or
high-peak contaminants are
unacceptably high, or sensitivity

Replace the ESI probe tip.
When sensitivity decreases to
unacceptable levels, or if blocked
or damaged.
Replace the probe
assembly.
When sensitivity decreases to
unacceptable levels or signal is
unstable due to inconsistent
sample flow.
Clean the APCI probe tip.
