8. Use the needle-nose pliers to fit the dual APPI/APCI corona pin into the
mounting contact. Ensure that the pin tip aligns with the sample cone
tip.

9. Close the source enclosure door, and fasten the securing clips.
10. Close the instrument’s front access door.
To confirm that the UV lamp is operating correctly
1. On the MassLynx Tune window, click Ion Mode > APcI+ or Ion Mode >
APPI+.
2. Click Options > Multiple Ion Modes >Dual APPI/APcI.
