Operating in Dual APPI/APCI mode
Required materials

To prepare the source for operation in dual APPI/APCI mode
1. If the Combined APPI/APCI Source is not already fitted on the
instrument, install it as described in
.
2. Fully retract the lamp drive assembly.
3. If the instrument has been in use:
a. On the MassLynx Tune window, click Press for Standby, and
confirm that the instrument status indicator is red.
b. Wait for three minutes for the desolvation gas to cool the probe.
c.
Click
to stop the nitrogen flow.
Caution:
To avoid damage to the UV lamp when preparing for
operating in dual APPI/APCI mode, ensure that the lamp drive
assembly is fully retracted from the source enclosure.
