The cartridge must slide fully into the solvent-selection valve
assembly. If it does not, contact Waters Technical Service.
10. Insert the 2-mm hex screw at the 10 o’clock position on the cartridge,
and tighten using the 2-mm Allen wrench.
11. Reattach all fittings, and finger-tighten them.
12. Return the solvent bottles to their original location.

Be sure to prime all six solvent tubes.
Replacing the primary check valve

Primary check valve assembly
•
Gloves: clean, powder-free, chemical-resistant
Required tool
1/2-inch, open-end wrench
To replace the primary check valve:
1. Flush the ISM with non-hazardous solvent.
2. Power-off the ISM.
Tip:
Move the solvent bottles to a location below the ISM.
Warning:
To prevent injury, always observe Good Laboratory Practices
when you handle solvents, change tubing, or operate the ISM. Consult
the Material Safety Data Sheets regarding the solvents you use.
Caution:
To prevent contamination, wear clean, chemical-resistant,
powder-free gloves when replacing the check valve.
