2. Using the 1.5 meter (5-foot) hose, attach one end of the tubing to the
remaining fitting on the bottle cap.
3. Position the other end of the tubing at a perpendicular angle to a
laboratory exhaust system that applies gentle vacuum. There should be
a minimum negative pressure of

detector and the laboratory exhaust system.

Connecting to the electricity source
The 2424 ELS detector requires a separate, grounded electricity source. The
ground connection in the electrical outlet must be common and connected near
the chromatographic system.
Caution:
Avoid placing the tubing end inside the exhaust vent.
Doing so will create a stronger vacuum on the gas exiting the
detector and likely carry away valuable sample.
