CLEANING OUT SIDE CHANNELS, BASE, SOOT & DEPOSITS

 

Step 1:

 

Ensure fire is out and cooled. Remove 2 x inspection caps from 
the top plate as shown above.  

 

Step 2:

 

With both doors closed sweep out 2 x side channels with a 100mm dia   
chimney sweeping brush or equivalent until channels are clear of any soot.

 

Replace caps back in position and fire is ready to use.

 

Step 3:

 

Remove the cap screws from the bottom plate and rake out the soot from 
the base.  

 

Fit back into place and replace the screws.  

 

CHIMNEY SWEEPING 

 

Step 1:

 

Remove baffle from top Firebox, as shown in diagram

Close both doors to stop any soot coming into the room, as shown in 
diagram

Open the oven damper control on the R/H top side of the Fire, as 
shown in diagram

Step 2:

 

Remove ADD Cowl on roof as shown in diagram

 & sweep with suitable 

sized chimney wweeping brush to flue diameter from top down.  

 

When  finished, replace ADD cowl as shown in diagram

Once flue is swept, clean out ash & soot from the firebox & replace baffle 
plate as shown in diagram

 to complete Chimney Sweep.
