5. Controls
IMPORTANT! Before starting work with the wood
splitter, become familiar with the location and
function of all controls.
5.1 Engine Controls
Refer to the engine manual that came with this product for
further explanation on engine controls.

5.1.1 Ignition Switch
This rotary switch controls the ignition system.
•
The engine operates in the ON position. Before
starting the engine, turn the switch to ON.
•
Turn it counter-clockwise to OFF to stop the
engine.

5.1.2 Choke Lever
The choke lever opens and closes the choke valve in the
carburetor.
•
Place the choke lever in the CLOSED position (3)
when starting a cold engine.
•
Move the choke lever to the OPEN position (2)
after the engine starts. When restarting a warm
engine, leave the lever in the OPEN position.

5.1.3 Fuel Shut-off Valve
The engine is equipped with a valve between the fuel tank
and the carburetor.
•
Slide the fuel valve lever toward the block (2) to
turn fuel ON, and away (3) to turn OFF.
•
Turn the fuel OFF when not in use or when
transporting.
