are responsible for the SAFE operation and maintenance of your Wallenstein BXMC Chipper /
Shredder.
YOU
must ensure that you and anyone else who is going to use, maintain or work around the
Chipper / Shredder be familiar with the use and maintenance procedures and related
SAFETY
informa

tion contained in this manual. This manual will take you step-by-step through your working day and alerts
you to all good safety practices that should be used while using the Chipper / Shredder.
Remember,
YOU
are the key to safety. Good safety practices not only protect you but also the people
around you. Make these practices a working part of your safety program. Be certain that
EVERYONE
using this equipment is familiar with the recommended using and maintenance procedures and follows
all the safety precautions. Most accidents can be prevented. Do not risk injury or death by ignoring good
safety practices.

prepare before servicing, adjusting, re

pairing or unplugging:
•
disengage the drive
•
shut off the engine
•
ensure components have stopped moving.
•
remove spark plug cable from the spark plug
•
turn fuel valve off.
•
block & chock the wheels
• DO NOT
touch hot engine parts, muffler
cover, engine body, engine oil, etc. during
operation and after the engine has been shut
off. Contact may cause burns.
• DO NOT
expect a person who has not read
and understood all use and safety instructions
to operate the machine. An untrained opera
-
tor is not qualified and exposes himself and
bystanders to possible serious injury or death.
It is the owners responsibility to the operator
to ensure familiarity and understanding of the
machine.

modify the equipment in any way.
Unauthorized modification may impair the
function and/or safety and could affect the life
of the equipment.
• DO NOT
allow riders while towing.
• DO NOT
risk injury or death by ignoring good
safety practices.

personnel who will operating or maintaining the
chipper

have a first-aid kit available
for use should the need arise
and know how to use it.

read and understand all
safety signs located on the machine before us

ing, maintaining, adjusting or cleaning the wood
chipper

have a fire extinguisher available
for use should the need arise and know
how to use it.
• DO
inspect and secure all guards before
starting.
• DO
wear appropriate
protective gear (
PPE).
