Determining the IP Address of a Host PC
So that the host PC (e.g. notebook) can communicate with an I/O-IPC via the
ETHERNET, both must be located in the same subnet.
To determine the IP address of a host PC (with MS Windows operating system)
using the MS-DOS prompt, proceed as follows:
1.
Click on "Start" and select "Execute".
2.
Enter the command
cmd
and press the Enter key. A prompt opens.
3.
Enter the command
ipconfig
and press the Enter key.
4.
The IP address, subnet mask and standard gateway, including the
appropriate parameters, are displayed.
