Behavior in Case of Error
The behavior of the F I/O module in case of error depends on the type of error
and is described below:
•
Channel error
•
Channel pair error
•
Module error
•
Configuration/communication error
Process value for a passivated channel can be overwritten!
Depending on the safe PLC used, it may be that the safe PLC overwrites the
process value for a passivated channel. This means that the user program no
longer displays the process value generated by the F I/O module for the relevant
channel, but instead a substitute value defined by the safe PLC.
Error indication until acknowledgment
Detected errors are indicated by means of LEDs and diagnostic messages. This
status persists even if the module detects the resolution of the error. Elimination
of an error is indicated by the flashing PROFIsafe status LED and activation of
the corresponding status bits in the process image. After acknowledgement,
signaling for corrected errors is reset. Any remaining errors continue to be
indicated.
