Setting of the upper and lower limiting value depending on the numeric
format:
In the +/
−
numeric ranges, the limiting values must be re-calculated to a positive
equivalent in the range from 0 … 65535 (see table).
Example 1: Twos complement
Lower limit:
−10 → Underrange limiting value
: 32758
Upper limit: +10 → Overra
nge limiting value: 32778
Example 2: Leading sign/amount
Lower limit:
−10 → Underra
nge limiting value: 32758
Upper limit: +10 → Overra
nge limiting value: 32778
Setting the upper and lower limiting value depending on a scaling:
Example 3: Scaling
−
10000 should correspond to
−
10 V, +10000 could correspond to +10 V.
The scaling factor is: 32767 / 10000 = 3.2767.
3.2767 * 256 (increment with scaling) = 839.
839 is the gain factor (gain).
The offset remains 0.
If limiting values should now be determined, they must be multiplied by 3.2767
and then recalculated as in the first example to a numeric equivalent in the range
from 0 … 65535.
