Checking the hydraulic oil level
The oil level glass is integrated into the hydraulic oil reservoir.
CAUTION
Burn hazard due to hot hydraulic oil!
Hot hydraulic oil can cause burns to the skin.
►
Release the residual pressure in the hydraulic system.
►
Allow the hydraulic system to cool down.
►
Wear protective equipment.
NOTICE
Damage to hydraulic system due to a low hydraulic oil level.
►
The hydraulic-oil level must not drop below the oil level sight glass.
►
In case of frequent oil loss: check or have the hydraulic system
checked for leaks.
►
Have leaks repaired by an authorized service center.

Information
Hot hydraulic oil expands considerably. Therefore, check the oil only when
the hydraulic system is cold.
1. Park the machine on level ground.
2. Retract all hydraulic cylinders.
3. Apply the parking brake.
4. Turn the machine off and remove the ignition key.
5. Clean oil level sight glass
A
and check the oil level:
- If the oil level is visible in the lower half of the oil level sight glass: oil
level is OK.
- If the oil level is no longer visible in the lower half of the oil level sight
glass:
not enough oil!
6. If the hydraulic oil level in the low: add hydraulic oil
– see "Adding hydraulic oil" on page 7-56
.
