Racor® Crankcase Filter (if equipped)
Location
The Racor crankcase filter
(a)
is located next to the engine.
Description
The crankcase filter removes oil from engine blow-by. Coalesced oil drains into the
engine oil pan. Filtered air is then routed to the engine intake system.
The crankcase filter contains a high-performance element which should be
replaced after every 750 hours of operation. See
Replacing the Racor Filter
Element
in the
Maintenance
chapter.
Filter heater
Your crankcase filter may be equipped with a thermostatically controlled heating
system as shown in the illustration on the right. This system prevents water vapor
from condensing and freezing on the inner walls of the filter intake hose while
operating the generator in extremely cold weather.
