Bearing test
Using the WABCO Leakage Finder 2.0 and the structure-borne sound probe, you can test rolling and
ball bearings in two different ways:
Comparative method: The maximum dBµV values between two identical bearings are compared.
Trend method: A reference value is recorded at one point of the bearing and the development of
this value is monitored by regular checks. An increase of the value indicates either under- or over-
lubrication. If overgreasing could be excluded, grease the bearing with a few strokes of the grease
gun until the reference value is reached again or begins to rise again. It is essential to wait for some
time between the individual strokes until the grease is evenly distributed.
