Adjusting the thread tension
Rolled hem, scalloped hem and narrow overlock stitch
For a rolled hem, pull the thread chain back
slightly at the beginning and the end of the
seam.
For a scalloped hem, pull the fabric back
slightly while sewing.
Correct thread tension: Rolled hem Scalloped hem Narrow overlock stitch
Thread tension settings: Needle
thread is loose
Upper looper thread is too
loose
Lower looper thread is pulled to
the edge of the fabric
Increase the needle thread tension. Increase the tension for the upper
looper thread.
Increase the thread tension for the
lower looper thread and/or decrease
it for the upper looper thread.
