Removing a W6 plastic bobbin from the black hook race

What do I do with the lower thread?

To open the plastic hook cover, slide the black fastener to the right and
remove the hook cover.

Remove the plastic bobbin from the hook race.

Using the right-hand index finger, grip beneath the edge of the
bobbin and lift the bobbin out.

The plastic bobbin has been removed from the hook race.
