Upper thread tension dial
3 – 5 = Normal tension range
Pattern selector dial
Turn the pattern selector dial to select a
pattern.
• To select a pattern from the top row, set
the stitch length dial to between 0 and 4.
• To select a pattern from the bottom row,
the stitch length dial must be set to the
symbol .
A stitch must only be selected when the
machine is at a standstill and when the needle
is in the highest position.

Stitch length dial
The following digits/symbols can be selected
by turning the stitch length dial:
0,
, 1, 2, 3, 4, “+”, and “-”.
When a pattern has been selected with the
stitch length dial, the length of the pattern can
be changed with the scale values 1, 2, 3, 4.
The symbol
on the stitch length dial must
be selected to sew buttonholes and
decorative stitches.
In position , the patterns A to L (bottom row)
will be selected.
The super utility stitches can be enlarged or
made smaller by turning to “+” or “-“.
