Handpieces
Always handle the handpieces with great care. Never use them on humans and
never introduce them into orifices. Never use the handpieces as tools. Never intro-
duce them into openings of the simulator enclosure or into other devices.
The handpieces are delicate and may break if they fall down. Use the handpieces
with care and always store the handpieces in the provided box when they are not
in use.
Operating table
Contusions or other injuries may occur if body parts get caught between the moving
parts of the simulator table and neighboring objects while adjusting the table height.
As far as possible, keep hands, fingers, and other body parts away from the lifting
column, simulator PC, and other moving parts while adjusting the table height. Keep
a safety distance of the simulator to neighboring objects of minimum 15 cm (6”).
Do not place any objects on the operating table apart from the surgical interface
heads and the supplied handpieces. Especially heavy objects may exceed the op-
erating table’s load bearing capacity. Never lean against or sit on any part of the
simulator.
Touch screen
The screen’s touch-sensitive surface might be damaged by wrong handling. Never
touch the screen with hard or sharp-edged objects (e.g. a ball-point pen). Do not
press hard on the screen. Only tap the screen with your fingers using slight pressure.
Surgical interface head
Highly sensitive electronics are located under the mechanical eye that may get se-
verely damaged if touched. Never touch the internal parts of the surgical interface
head. Under no circumstances allow objects or liquids to enter the surgical interface
heads.
2.10 Disassembly, Transport, and Storage
Disassembly
Before starting to disassemble the simulator, switch off the simulator. Also discon-
nect the simulator from power.
The four screws underneath the mounting receptacle of the monitor arm cannot be
fully unscrewed. This secures the mounting receptacle against full disassembly so
that the monitor arm cannot fall down. Trying to fully unscrew the four screws un-
derneath the mounting receptacle will damage the receptacle. Only slightly loosen
the screws (approx. one full revolution). This should be sufficient to pull out the
monitor arm.
