Checking the cylinder liner height before fitting the liner.
1.
Fit the cylinder liner, but not the sealing rings, in
the cylinder block.
2.
Fit tool 2666 (two) to hold the cylinder in position
in the block.
3.
Fit a dial indicator on holder 2479. Point the dial
indicator probe at the liner stepped edge and read-
off the liner height above the block face.
4.
This measuring should be done at several places
on the liner.
Correct cylinder liner height above the cylinder
block face is 0.14–0.20 mm.

Fit new sealing rings in the cylinder block.
Note: Lubricate the two bottom rings with the
grease contained in the packet containing the
rings.
Concerning order and location of the sealing rings,
refer to installation instructions in the packet.

If the liner is to be refitted, mark the cylinder liner
seating against the cylinder block with a coloured
pen.
2.
Pull the cylinder liner up out of the cylinder block.
3.
Remove the sealing rings from the cylinder block.
4.
Thoroughly clean the cylinder liner sealing surfac-
es in the cylinder block. The sealing surfaces must
be entirely free of rust and deposits.
Note: Do not use a scraper tool for this.
