Operating Trim Controls
The trim system is controlled by switches located on
the shift lever.
The upper button moves the drive up, or away from the
transom. This trims the drive out. Trimming the drive
out will raise the bow of the boat, in relation to hori-
zontal.
The lower button moves the drive down, or towards the
transom. This trims the drive in. Trimming the drive
down will lower the bow of the boat.
If your boat is equiped with a separate trim switch, the
arrow buttons work the same as above.
The top button is an over-ride, so that the drive can be
trimmed past the trim range and into the Beach and Tilt
positions. Press the top and center buttons at the same
time to enter these trim ranges.
Trim Ranges
The trim gauge shows the relative position of the boat’s
bow, based on the drive trim angle.
Trim is divided in to the three trim ranges described
below. The digital gauge is shown in the illustrations,
an analog gauge provides the same information by the
position of the needle on the dial face.
Trim
Trim range for a SX single prop drive is any angle
between -5° and 13°. For a Duoprop drive or Forward
Drive (FWD) it is any angle between -5° and 8°. Most
boat operation is done at trim angles in the trim range.
