If a safe operation can no longer be assumed, the device must be put out of operation and secured against
unintended operation. Safe operation can no longer be assumed if:
• the product exhibits visible damage,
• does not function any longer and
• the unit was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long period of time or
• after it was exposed to extraordinary stress caused by transport.
Never switch the device on immediately after it has been taken from a cold into a warm environment.
Condensation that forms might destroy your device under unfavourable conditions. Allow the device to
reach room temperature before switching it on.
The plug-in power adapter is not designed for application to human beings or animals.
4. COMMISSIONING
Regularly check the technical safety of the device e.g. for damage to the housing.
The polarity cannot be changed. The plug has the set polarity
”inside plus (+),
outside minus (-)”
Make sure the load is switched off when you connect it to the plug-in power adapter. Connect the plug-in
power adapter’s DC plug to the DC jack on the low-voltage load.
Plug the plug-in power adapter into a standard household mains socket. The plug-in power adapter will
indicate correct operation with a light.
To disconnect the consumer load from the plug-in power adapter, proceed in reverse order.
5. TROUBLESHOOTING
By purchasing this plug-in power adapter you have acquired a product with state of the art design that is
operationally reliable.
Nevertheless, problems or faults may occur.
Therefore, we would like to describe here how to eliminate possible faults:
Always follow the safety instructions!
Problem
Solution
The power/operation
indicator does not light up.
No mains voltage?
• Check the miniature circuit breaker for the mains socket
• Check whether the mains plug is seated correctly in the mains socket
Is the power supply overloaded?
• Remove the load(s) and check the technical data.
Repairs other than those described above should only be performed by an authorised
specialist. Unauthorized modifications or repairs to the device invalidate the guarantee/
warranty.
6. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
You do not need to service the plug-in power adapter, apart from occasional cleaning.
Disconnect the device from the mains socket before cleaning.
To clean the device, use a clean, slightly damp, fuzz-free, antistatic cleaning cloth.
Leave the device to dry completely before putting it into operation again.
If you have technical questions concerning the use of the device, feel free to contact our
technical support.
7. DISPOSAL
Electronic devices are recyclable material and do not belong in the household waste.
Please dispose the device, when it is no longer in use, according to the current statutory
requirements.
You thereby fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment!

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
FPPS 12-18 W 2.5 PLUG-IN POWER ADAPTER
ITEM NO. 1177412
1. INTENDED USE
The plug-in power adapter is used as voltage supply for office and low-voltage information electronic
devices with a suitable DC socket.
The plug-in power adapter is constructed in safety class 2 (protective insulation) and may only be con-
nected to and used on a standard household mains voltage from 100 - 240 V/AC. Due to the wide input
range, world-wide operation is guaranteed. The output provides a direct current voltage (DC) that is electri-
cally isolated from the mains. The polarity of the output plug is predetermined and can not be changed.
The current draw of the loads must not exceed the rated current of the plug-in power adapter. If exceeded,
the plug-in power adapter may overload. If the plug-in power adapter overloads, e.g. due to a short-circuit
or excessive continuous current draw, the output will be shut off to avoid damage. After removing the
overload, the plug-in power adapter can be put into operation again.
Do not use the product under adverse ambient conditions. Unfavourable ambient conditions are:
• Damp or excess air humidity
• Dust and flammable gases, vapours or solvents
• Thunderstorms and storm-like conditions.
Any use other than that described above can lead to damage to the product and may involve additional
risks such as short circuits, fire, electric shock etc. No part of the product may be modified or converted!
Always observe the safety instructions in the individual chapters and the operating instructions of the
connected devices!
