Proceed as follows to measure alternating ‘V ’ (AC) voltages:
- Switch the DMM on and select the ‘V ’ measuring function.
- Insert the red lead into the V socket (10) and the black lead into the
COM socket (9).
- Connect the two probe tips to the object to be measured (generator,
circuit, etc.) in parallel.
- The measured value appears on the display.
- After taking a measurement, remove the leads from the measured
object and switch the DMM off.
The ‘V AC’ voltage range has an input resistance of >9 MΩ.
If open measuring inputs are used, an undefined measured
value may be displayed due to the high input resistance.
This, however, has no effect on the measurement result.
Proceed as follows to measure the frequency of alternating ‘V ’
(AC) voltages:
- Switch the DMM on and select the ‘V ’ measuring function.
- Press the ‘MODE’ button to switch to the frequency display.
- Insert the red lead into the V socket (10) and the black lead into the COM socket (9).
- Connect the two probe tips to the object to be measured (generator, circuit, etc.) in paral-
lel.
- The frequency of the alternating voltage is shown on the main display.
- In the sub-displays, the pulse time is displayed in ms as well as the pulse ratio as a % of
the positive half-wave.
- Press the ‘MODE’ button to switch to the voltage display.
- After taking a measurement, remove the leads from the measured object and switch the DMM off.
The ‘V AC’ voltage range has an input resistance of >9 MΩ. If open measuring inputs are used, an unde-
fined measured value may be displayed due to the high input resistance. This, however, has no effect on
the measurement result.
