Removing and installing engine bracket
Removing
– Attach lifting tackle -3033- as shown, and take up weight of
engine using workshop hoist -V.A.G 1202 A- or workshop
hoist -VAS 6100-.
Flywheel end:
● Position 4.
Vibration damper end:
● Position 8.
– Unscrew bolts of engine bracket, and remove engine brack-
et.
Note
Another suitable lifting and support device may be used as an
alternative.
WARNING
Secure the engine. There must be no hazards caused by
the engine falling, tipping over, etc.
Installing
Tightening sequence for securing engine bracket to cylin-
der block (if fitted)
Caution
The tightening sequence and specified torques for the en-
gine bracket securing bolts must always be followed. Oth-
erwise the engine bracket can be stressed, causing it to
break.
– First tighten new securing bolts hand-tight in sequence
-1…3-.
– Retighten securing bolts in tightening sequence to specified
torque
which is listed on page 128.
