OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
The battery offers a better performance when used at
the recommended temperature (20°C ± 5°C).
Charging the battery
To extend its lifetime, some recommendations must be
considered:
The battery must be charged with a room
temperature around 4°C and 30°C;
Make sure that the battery is charged with a VITO
recommended charger. The utilization of other
chargers increases the risk of fire, overheating or
leakage;
The batteries have limited number of charging cycles.
For this reason, the battery must be charged when
reaches the minimum level of charge;
The lithium batteries should only be charged at 10 or
20% of charge and not when completely discharged;
After a long period of storage, it may be necessary to
charge and discharge the battery several times to
obtain a maximum performance;
To charge the battery, follow these steps:
1. Insert the battery in the charger;
2. Plug the charger’s power cable in the electric socket;
The charge level indicating lights start blinking. As the
battery charges, the LEDs will stay on permanently.
3. The battery is fully charged when all indicating lights
are permanently on.
4. Remove the power cable from the electric socket and
the battery from the charger;
During charging, the charger/battery set can get
hot, which is normal and does not indicate any
malfunction. If the battery is hot, you should let it cool
down before charging.
Always turn the charger off before inserting or
removing the battery.
Checking the battery charge status
To obtain better results, make sure the battery is fully
charged before use it.
1. Press the charge level trial button (4);
2. The active charge level indicating lights (5) represent
the battery status;
1 led – 0 – 20 %
2 leds – 20 – 60 %
3 leds – 60 – 100 %
MAINTENANCE, CLEANING AND STORAGE
INSTRUCTIONS
The battery does not require additional maintenance.
However, it needs a regular cleaning to operate
continuously with no issues.
Cleaning and storage
Cleaning
Clean the battery with a clean and dry cloth or blow it
with low pressure compressed air. A careful handling
protects the battery and extends its lifespan.
The ventilation openings must be always clean to avoid
overheating. Clean it regularly or every time they get
obstructed.
Storage
The batteries must be stored inside dry, clean and
corrosive steam free places out of children’s reach.
Avoid store it to direct sunlight or near heat/cold
sources. Keep the batteries at the room temperature.
Do not store the battery inside places where the room
temperature is 40°C or higher.
The lithium batteries (Li-ion) should not be left
unloaded for a long time or stored fully charged. The
charge level must be between 40 and 50%. In the event
of a spontaneous discharge, the recharge must be at
least every 12 months.
