VP-210 Pager – Programming User Guide
Manual Programming Mode
Manual programming provides access to the settings of 6 capcodes, baud rate and frequency.
1.
Remove the battery from the pager.
2.
Press and hold the ENT key.
3.
Insert the battery.
4.
Release the ENT key as soon as the display shows MNL PROGRAM.
5.
Press the ENT key to navigate to the Password menu.
6.
Enter the password using the RIGHT ARROW key to select a digit and press ENT key to navigate to the next password digit.
After the 4th digit was entered, press the ENT key to navigate to the CAPCODE menu.
Note: Default password is 1141 or 0200. If an incorrect password is entered, the pager will turn off.
Changing Capcodes, Baud Rate and Frequency
1.
Enter the manual programming mode as described in the Manual Programming Mode section.
2.
The display will show “ID1 ON CCCCCCC”, where CCCCCCC is the capcode already programmed in to the pager.
The digit after the ID label represents the number of the capcode to be edited. For example, ID1 represents capcode #1 and ID6
represents capcode #6.

Select the ID of the capcode to be edited using the RIGHT ARROW key and press the ENT key. The cursor will move to the
ON/OFF field.
4.
Use the RIGHT ARROW key to toggle between ON and OFF for the selected capcode. If you wish the capcode to be active, select
ON.
5.
Press the ENT key. The cursor will move to the CAPCODE field.
6.
a. Use the RIGHT ARROW key to enter a respective capcode digit for each flashing digit in the capcode field.
b. Press the ENT key to navigate to the next digit.
c. After the rightmost digit was entered, press the ENT key. The next capcode information will be displayed (ID2, ID3, etc.).
Note: Standard capcode range is from 0000008 to 2097151. Invalid capcodes will be rejected and cursor will move to the first
digit of the capcode field for retry.
7.
To program additional capcodes, repeat steps 3-6 for each capcode. Otherwise, press the RIGHT ARROW key until the
information for capcode #6 (ID6) is displayed.
8.
Press the RIGHT ARROW again to navigate to the Baud menu.
9.
Press the RIGHT ARROW key to toggle between baud rates of 512bps, 1200bps and 2400 bps.
10.
Press the ENT key after the required baud rate was selected. The cursor will move to the FRE menu.
11.
a. Press the ENT key to change the frequency.
b. Use the RIGHT ARROW key to enter a respective digit for each flashing digit in the frequency field.
c. After the rightmost digit was entered, press the ENT key.
Note: The frequency can be within the frequency band supported by the pager (refer to the label at the back of the pager,
usually 454-462 MHz and 462-470 MHz).
Invalid frequency or a frequency not within the band supported by the pager will render the pager inoperable.
12.
The pager display will show “PROGRAM YES?”.
Press the ENT key to save the settings or press the RIGHT ARROW key review and change the settings.
13.
After the ENT key is pressed, the pager will automatically turn off.
14.
Remove the battery and wait 5 seconds. Reinsert the battery, turn on the pager and test for proper operation.
