Turn the clamp knob
counter-clockwise to the ‘OFF’ position.

Using a suitable instrument, such as a flat-bladed screwdriver, carefully remove the knob cap
.

Remove the retaining screw
and washer
Earlier clamps

Earlier clamps have a smooth shaft
and are fitted with locking and adjusting grubscrews. Loctite is
used on these screws
Later clamps

Later clamps have a groove machined in the shaft
and are fitted with a single, longer, adjusting
grubscrew, retained by a locking thread insert.
